The Facts: The Daiwa Millionaire S is the lowest priced reel of the Millionaire series. It features the Super Speed Shaft for increased casting performance, anodized one-piece frame, seven element drag system, and instant anti reverse. Less bearings and no magnetic brake compared to the CV-X and CV-Z.

my first baitcaster, Feb 17, 2005

good:
nicely priced. at only $50-60 depending on the size. workhorse reel. you can pretty much use and abuse this reel since its not very expensive to begin with, and it can take it.

bad:
not the best round baitcaster around, but good for its price. anti reverse could use a little more work. still has play. and it would be nice if the magnetic anti backlash system found in the smaller CV-X and Z reels was used in these also.

comments:
the 300 was my very first baitcaster. i used it for a little over a year before it was taken by a ray, along with my rod, over the railing of the pier i was fishing from. i also know a local fishing guide who uses these exclusively for both his clients and for personal use. if you are looking to start out with a baitcaster and want one that will do u well but not break the bank till you save up for a much better one, this is the one for you. i highly recommend this reel if it is within your price range.
