10KG - Putting it to the test in Alaska, Mar 17, 2005

My second year with 8 Penn 10KG's on 5'6" rapid taper
60 pound custom rods used for winching up Pacific
Halibut from the depths. Absolutely no failures, little
maintenance and in the hands of "Novices" and "Pros"
so they are getting the test. We use Spectra line at 80
pound test, with delicate 2 pound sinkers and #18 circle
hooks. Great drag system, easy shift and the best
handle action to help haul up catches of 200 pounds
and more. I think a levelwind would be an addition I
would like to see, but for the price they are as good as
the Internationals.
