I bought one last year and have been very happy with it ever since. I have not had any problems with it and it casts great! I like it better than my Curado. Once you adjust the brake system it works like a dream. I can cast a 1/4 oz topwater at least 30 feet farther than a 3/8 oz spinnerbait on my Curado. It has a smooth drag and feels smoother than my Shimano. I highly recommend this reel and from my point of view it is the best reel out there under $100.00.

I have had the same problem on two reels. The line guide after about 60-100 casts starts to cut the line after the lure has been casted. At first I thought it was the rod but it was not. I purchased a new line guide and have not had the problem since. I purchased another reel and within 50 casts the line broke off exactly the same way. At a cost of $120.00 a reel of this cost should not have any problems being this new. I told a few people in my bass club about the problem and they told me they had the same problem. I will not buy another Trion. Everything else about the reel is great but when you lose a Lucky Craft crankbait because of a cheap line guide it makes me wonder that pflueger cut a corner that has resulted in many fisherman looking elsewhere for a new reel.
